Shared School Expense Splitter
Record school expenses, choose who shares each one and see who owes what, down to the cent.
This is an example. Change it to your own details, or tap “Clear plan” to start from scratch.
Your plan is saved on this device only. Anyone with a share link can see the plan, so send it only to people who need it.
How it works
Add the people involved, then record each expense, who paid and who shares it. New expenses start with everyone ticked. Adding a person does not change the people selected for existing expenses.
The summary subtracts each person’s share from what they paid. Suggested repayments settle those balances; they are not a record of payments already made. All amounts are in rands, with no currency conversion.
Questions
How are expenses shared?
Each expense is split equally between the people ticked for that expense. The person who paid can be different from those sharing it. Add separate entries if different parts need different groups.
What happens to odd cents?
Every calculation uses whole cents. If a price cannot be divided exactly, the first selected people in the list get an extra cent until the remainder is used. The shares always add up to the expense.
Does it make payments or decide what someone should pay?
No. It calculates from the expenses and sharing choices you enter. Agree those choices together and record repayments separately; this tool does not move money or determine legal obligations.
Do shared copies stay in sync?
No. A share link is a copy of the plan at that moment. Update your draft and send a new link when expenses or arrangements change.
