What you need to apply

Start here, then check your college’s list. It may ask for more documents or different copies.

These ticks last for this visit. No documents are uploaded here.

Where this checklist comes from

King Hintsa asks for a parent or guardian’s ID, without an age cut-off. Other colleges may ask adult applicants for it too.

Need funding or another study option?

TVET students can apply for NSFAS too. Check NSFAS eligibility and apply through myNSFAS.

What about the Central Application Service (CAS)?

DHET’s Central Application Service (CAS) is intended to help people find post-school options, including college pathways. The CAS website says the project is under review. No 2027 CAS application window is confirmed here; apply to the college directly.

How it works

Choose a province or search by college or town. Open a province to see its first eight matches, then choose Show all for the rest. Confirmed open windows appear first; an application link alone does not prove a place is available.

Each closing date has its own calendar button under Intake, dates and sources. This adds the published day, not a promise of a place or a reminder of an unpublished deadline.

Official sources and entry requirements

Only college and DHET sources are used for dates. We do not apply one national window to every course, copy last year’s dates or treat term starts as application deadlines. Semester and trimester dates not confirmed here must be checked with the college.

Questions

When do TVET applications for 2027 close?

Each college and programme sets its own dates. Only confirmed 2027 windows are shown here. A missing date does not mean the college is closed: check its application page. Later semester and trimester intakes may have separate notices.

Can I apply with a Grade 9 or Grade 11 report?

NC(V) Level 2 can start with a Grade 9 pass. Colleges ask for your latest school report, but a Grade 11 report does not replace a programme’s entry requirements. Ehlanzeni lists Grade 9 for NC(V) and Report 191 N1, and a National Senior Certificate for Report 191 N4. Check the exact programme and required subjects with your college.

Will Report 191 programmes still take new students?

Report 191 (NATED) programmes are being replaced by occupational programmes. A course in an older prospectus may no longer take new students in 2027. Ask the college about the qualification and intake you want before applying.

Does it cost anything to apply?

This directory is free. Check the college’s own fee information for application, registration and course charges. Tshwane North says it does not charge administration or registration fees; do not assume the same for every college. A place and funding are separate decisions.

How does NSFAS work for TVET students?

Public TVET students can apply for NSFAS for approved programmes. Funding depends on NSFAS’s rules and approval; it is not guaranteed by applying to a college. Use our NSFAS eligibility checker below, apply through myNSFAS and follow your college’s instructions.
