Back-to-School Budget Planner
See what next school year will cost your family, and what to put away for January.
This is an example. Change it to your own details, or tap “Clear plan” to start from scratch.
Your plan is saved on this device only. Anyone with a share link can see the plan, so send it only to people who need it.
How it works
Enter your own amounts for each child. Monthly costs start in January and run for the number of months you choose. One-off costs go in their chosen month.
“After that” is the average of February to December, including one-off costs. Check the month-by-month list for the actual amount each month.
Bring in paid stationery amounts from your saved checklist. Uniform is left out. The preview shows which Stationery lines will be replaced; other costs stay as you entered them. Paid amounts are copied as January costs, so check they belong in next year’s budget.

Questions
What should I include?
Add fees, uniform, stationery, books, transport, aftercare and any other school costs you expect. Enter your own amounts. Blank amounts are not counted.
How is the monthly saving worked out?
January’s total is divided by the complete months left before next 1 January. For example, 17 October leaves two complete months. In January, the target moves to January of the following year. With less than one complete month left, the tool shows the amount needed instead.
Can I split it with my ex or co-parent?
Yes. Use the school expense splitter to agree how to share the costs.
Is anything sent anywhere?
Nothing you enter is sent anywhere. Your plan is saved on this device only. Anyone with a share link can see it, so share it only with people you choose.
