How it works
UKZN uses the NSC scale with an extra point for excellence: 90–100% is 8 points, 80–89% is 7, 70–79% is 6, 60–69% is 5, 50–59% is 4, 40–49% is 3, 30–39% is 2 and below 30% is 1.
Your APS is the total of six subjects. Life Orientation scores no points, but most programmes still need it at level 4.
If you took more than seven subjects, UKZN counts English, Mathematics (or Maths Literacy) and your best four others.
The highest possible APS is 48. Applications go through the Central Applications Office (CAO).
This calculator follows the method UKZN publishes for 2027 entry, checked against its own documents: UKZN Undergraduate Prospectus 2027 · UKZN: Undergraduate selection procedure. It’s an estimate: the university’s own assessment of your final results decides admission.
